Pilot Scale Production Machines

Our main goal when developing and manufacturing our pilot scale coating machines is to provide our customers with a scaled-down version of a continuous working production coating machine, which fits into every lab. With these laboratory versions of coating machines you are able to reproduce the coating process in your lab as under production conditions. And in a GMP conform way. This means, that you already determine during your product design process, critical machine parameters for coating, which can be used later on for the production process. The scale-up is approved by the FDA. With our pilot scale coating machines a closer coordination between R&D and production is possible even in the early stages of development.

Despite the small size of the pilot scale coating machines, every machine has the same coating system and the same pumping unit as in the production machines. This guarantees:

high precision coatings already in the development stage
it is easy to scale up
and to produce clinical samples or to carry out small volume productions

Even with small amounts of coating fluid, your recipe can be tested for its fitness of use. Especially when using expensive APIs or excipients, you can operate economically.

With our smart drying technique you are able to control the drying temperature in each individual drying zone to define the optimal parameters for your product. Even complex products with specific residual solvent levels can be produced in a repeatable way without losing the demand on high quality coating.

Mid-Size Production Machines

The hybrid model builds a bridge between our pilot scale machines and our production machines. The layout of the machine is similar to our production machine. It is divided into a machinery compartment, in which the pumping units, the coating system and all winders and shafts are located. The other part is the drying compartment which consists of three drying zones with a total drying length of 3.400 mm which are arranged in a u-shaped way. However, this machine can be still placed onto a laboratory desk and hence can be used for R&D trials.

Each of our mid-size production coating machines can be used for the manufacturing of products for the pharmaceutical, the cosmetic or food industry. Regardless, if you want to produce patches, oral dissolvable film strips, mucoadhesives, facial masks or any other coating, our mid-size coating machines always work reliable to achieve coatings with high accuracies. Even complex products such as multi-layer patches or coatings, which have to meet close limits regarding its residual solvent levels, can be produced with our mid-size machines.
